What this boat is
The Pershing 70 is a hardtop sports yacht combining a 46-knot maximum speed with three-cabin accommodation and separate quarters for one crew member. Built in Italy from 2014 to 2020, it suits owners seeking fast coastal passages, outdoor entertaining and overnight cruising for six, rather than the additional decks and slower operating profile of a conventional flybridge motor yacht.
The model in detail
The Pershing 70 made its public debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2014. Built at Mondolfo in Italy, it combined Fulvio De Simoni’s styling with engineering and development by Ferretti Group’s AYT&D department and Centro Stile. Its defining features are the two substantial wings connecting the hardtop to the gunwales, framing a cockpit that extends across the yacht’s width. Production continued through 2020.
The 21.44-metre hull has a 5-metre beam and a fully laden draft of 1.35 metres. Hull and superstructure are glass-reinforced composite, with a planing underwater form. Unladen displacement is approximately 38.45 tonnes, rising to 45.17 tonnes fully laden. Fuel capacity is 3,500 litres and fresh-water capacity is 900 litres. The original specification carries CE Category A certification and a maximum onboard capacity of 16 people, distinct from overnight accommodation.
The standard lower deck sleeps six in three cabins: a full-beam owner’s suite amidships, a forward VIP double and a portside twin. There are three guest bathrooms; the twin cabin’s bathroom also has access from the lobby for daytime use. A separate single crew cabin has its own bathroom. The galley lies below deck to starboard. An alternative two-cabin arrangement replaces the twin cabin with an additional lounge, reducing guest sleeping capacity to four.
On the main deck, extensive glazing surrounds the saloon and starboard helm. Original interior treatments combined light ash furniture, charcoal lacquer, wooden flooring and LED ceiling lighting. An extending dining table accommodates six, while the helm has a two-person Poltrona Frau leather seat. The forward portside seating area could instead be specified as a bar. Outside, the layout provides cockpit dining, an aft sunpad and a second sunbathing area on the foredeck.
Early boats use two MTU 10V 2000 M94 diesels rated at 1,623 mhp each, driving Top System 85P surface transmissions. Nominal cruising and maximum speeds are 40 and 46 knots. Automatic drive-trim control assists acceleration and running trim. Instrumented performance figures include 40.5 knots at approximately 534 litres per hour combined, with a calculated range of 239 nautical miles allowing a 10 percent fuel reserve. Later examples have MTU 10V 2000 M96L engines, making engine identification an important distinction between individual boats.
Electrical architecture includes MOSFET power-control modules and NAVIOP touchscreen monitoring. Optional automation and Videoworks entertainment integration extend control to lighting, curtains, temperature and audiovisual equipment. Equipment and interior configurations vary between hulls rather than forming a single uniform specification. With its separate crew berth, shallow draft and high cruising speed, the model combines provision for a professional skipper with the accommodation and deck spaces needed for coastal holidays and short island-to-island passages.

Frequent questions
A verified original base price is not available, and production ended in 2020. As of 19 October 2026, nine distinct public pre-owned offerings were identified, with asking prices equivalent to approximately €1.332 million–€2.400 million and a median of €1.773 million, using the latest available euro reference exchange rate; tax status varies.
The original twin-MTU M94 configuration has nominal speeds of 40 knots cruising and 46 knots maximum. Instrumented figures show 40.5 knots and a calculated range of 239 nautical miles with a 10 percent fuel reserve; loading, weather and hull condition affect actual results.
The standard layout sleeps six guests in three cabins, with three guest bathrooms plus a separate crew cabin and bathroom. An optional two-cabin layout sleeps four, while the original maximum onboard capacity is 16 people rather than 16 overnight guests.
It has a separate single crew cabin with its own bathroom. This provides accommodation for one professional skipper, but the berth count does not establish the legal manning requirement for every registration or operating arrangement.
Pershing built the model at Mondolfo in Italy. Fulvio De Simoni designed its exterior and interiors, working with Ferretti Group’s AYT&D research and development department and Centro Stile.
Instrumented figures for the twin-MTU M94 version show combined consumption of approximately 534 litres per hour at 40.5 knots and 616 litres per hour at 46.1 knots. These figures apply to the tested loading and conditions, not every boat or engine version.
