What this boat is
The De Antonio D50 Open combines the outdoor layout of a large walkaround dayboat with accommodation for overnight cruising. Concealed outboards leave room for an extensive stern sunpad, while the optional seawater Jacuzzi gives the foredeck an unusual alternative to conventional sunbathing space. It targets families and groups wanting open-air entertaining without dispensing with cabins and bathroom facilities.
The model in detail
Introduced in 2021, the De Antonio D50 Open succeeded the D46 as the Barcelona-based brand’s flagship. Design is credited to the shipyard’s technical department, while production takes place in Poland. Its angular profile, walkaround circulation and outboards concealed beneath the stern sunpad continue the builder’s established approach, combining an open deck with accommodation below rather than a conventional enclosed deck saloon.
The deck provides sunbathing areas forward and aft, an outdoor galley and seating around two tables. An optional 2.5-metre seawater Jacuzzi occupies the forward sunbathing area; cushions must be removed before filling it. Below, layouts offer two or three cabins and one or two bathrooms. The broad aft compartment can be arranged as a double cabin or a lounge, while an additional cabin can accommodate a skipper.
Four Mercury Verado V8 300 outboards provide the standard 1,200 hp installation. The current engine catalogue also includes twin 600 hp V12s and quadruple 350 or 400 hp V10s, with joystick-equipped combinations available. The builder quotes 30 knots cruising and up to 50 knots, depending on configuration and loading. A published test with four 300 hp engines recorded 46 knots and planing in six seconds.
The GRP planing hull derives from the D46’s underwater design. Beam is 4.40 metres and published hull draft is 0.70 metres; the manufacturer lists an air draft of 4.10 metres. Length figures require care: the September 2024 specification distinguishes 12.65 metres without a platform, 13.65 metres with the platform and 14.50 metres with the optional XL platform, excluding the projecting anchor assembly. Fuel and freshwater capacities are 1,500 and 340 litres respectively.
Equipment depends substantially on the original order. The 2024 standard specification includes a soft-top, Flexiteek decking, a 12-inch Simrad navigation display, Simrad VHF and Fusion audio. Options include a hardtop, hydraulic XL bathing platform, tender-garage crane, generator, air conditioning, bow thruster and Seakeeper stabilisation. Some combinations are incompatible: the same options sheet excludes pairing the hydraulic XL platform with either the listed Seakeeper installation or Lenco flaps. (docs.gestionaweb.cat)
The related D50 Coupé debuted at Düsseldorf in January 2023, adding an enclosed driving area and retractable canvas roof rather than replacing the Open’s outdoor format. For ownership, the important distinction is between the 12-person passenger capacity and the smaller overnight complement: published accommodation figures indicate four or six berths. The Open’s exterior galley, sunpads and bathing arrangements support day cruising, anchoring and short overnight trips.

Frequent questions
The shipyard’s September 2024 base price was €710,000 excluding VAT, including four Mercury Verado V8 300 engines. Six verified pre-owned listings sampled for this review had displayed asking prices equivalent to approximately €750,000–€981,000, with a median around €841,000 after currency conversion; these are asking prices, not completed-sale values, and tax treatment varies. De Antonio quotes 30 knots cruising and up to 50 knots, subject to engines and loading; a four-300 hp test boat reached 46 knots. That test’s approximately 6 litres per nautical mile implies a calculated range of about 225 nautical miles from the 1,500-litre tank with a 10% reserve, rather than a manufacturer-guaranteed range.
The manufacturer offers two- or three-cabin arrangements with one or two bathrooms and lists a maximum passenger capacity of 12. Published overnight accommodation is four or six berths, depending on layout; passenger capacity should not be confused with sleeping capacity.
No: the bow Jacuzzi is optional. The original brochure describes a 2.5-metre seawater installation in the forward sunbathing area, and a published test confirms that its cushions are removed before filling.
The D50 is a De Antonio Yachts model, with design credited to the shipyard’s technical department. The company is based in Barcelona, and its own production statement identifies Poland as the manufacturing location for the D50 Open and D50 Coupé.
A published test of the four-Mercury-Verado-V8-300 installation reported approximately 6 litres per nautical mile just above 30 knots, equivalent to roughly 180 litres per hour at 30 knots. Consumption changes with speed, loading, sea conditions and engine specification.
