What this boat is
The Galeon 440 Fly is a family motor yacht that combines an enclosed saloon, an open flybridge and unusually adaptable outdoor spaces within a 13.97-metre overall length. Introduced in 2023, this Tony Castro design suits owner-operators moving up from smaller cruisers, with two- or three-cabin accommodation, twin diesel propulsion and folding cockpit balconies that substantially enlarge the entertaining area at anchor.
The model in detail
The contemporary Galeon 440 Fly made its global debut at boot Düsseldorf in January 2023. Designed with Tony Castro Design Studio, it belongs to Galeon’s fourth-generation range and is distinct from the older 440 Fly bearing the same name. Its profile combines extensive hull glazing, large saloon windows and a glazed flybridge surround. The related 450 HTC shares its hull and interior accommodation but substitutes a hardtop arrangement for the flying bridge.
Built in Poland, the 440 Fly uses GRP construction and a planing hull. Overall length is 13.97 metres, with a hull length of 12.58 metres and a normal beam of 4.20 metres. Opening both cockpit balconies increases the maximum beam to 6.35 metres. Published European light-craft displacement is 16.6–17.7 tonnes, depending on specification. Fuel capacity totals 1,700 litres in two tanks, while freshwater capacity is 425 litres. The model carries CE category B certification and a maximum persons limit of 14.
The main deck places the galley forward to port, opposite the lower helm, leaving the aft saloon for seating and dining. A large starboard helm door gives direct access to the side deck. Three-part aft glazing opens the saloon towards the cockpit, and a movable section of the saloon seating helps connect the two areas. The partially glazed folding balconies form waterside terraces, while the available hydraulic bathing platform can launch a tender and provide easier access to the water.
Below deck, the two-cabin arrangement provides a midships owner’s cabin and a forward VIP, each with access to its own bathroom. A three-cabin alternative adds a bunk cabin for six overnight guests, retaining two bathrooms but reducing their dimensions. The owner’s accommodation has substantial hull windows and storage, although ceiling heights vary beneath the main deck. Interior finishes have included matte dark walnut and grey-toned wood treatments; equipment and decorative specifications differ between individual boats.
Twin Volvo Penta D6-480 diesels with shaft propulsion are a principal engine installation. D6-440 shaft-drive boats, IPS installations and examples with twin D8-600 engines also exist. Published performance estimates reach approximately 30 knots, but individual trials have produced lower results: a D6-440 example achieved 27.4 knots. Indicative cruising range is around 200–240 nautical miles for that configuration, with loading, speed, sea conditions and hull condition affecting the result.
Above, the flybridge combines a second helm, companion seating, an aft dining area and an available wet bar. The foredeck provides adjustable sunbathing cushions and forward-facing seating, with optional shade. Equipment choices include transom cooking facilities, generators, air-conditioning, thrusters, automatic trim control and navigation electronics. Conceived for owner-operation rather than a permanent crew, the 440 Fly accommodates family coastal cruising and island-hopping while retaining several separate places to gather aboard.

Frequent questions
The published starting price in 2024 was €692,100 excluding VAT, before optional equipment. As of October 16, 2026, six distinct pre-owned examples of the 2023-generation model were found with asking prices of approximately €799,000–€1,135,000 and a median of €931,000; these mix VAT-paid and VAT-excluded boats and exclude older-generation examples, new stock and identified duplicates.
Published estimates indicate approximately 25 knots cruising and 30 knots maximum, although actual performance varies with engines and loading. A twin D6-440 shaft-drive example reached 27.4 knots, with indicative range figures of around 200–240 nautical miles.
The two-cabin layout sleeps four in a midships owner’s cabin and a forward VIP. The alternative three-cabin layout adds twin bunks for six overnight guests, and both arrangements have two bathrooms.
The model is designed for owner-operation, with both interior and flybridge helms and direct side-deck access beside the lower helm. Thrusters and, on IPS-equipped examples, joystick controls can assist manoeuvring; their availability depends on the individual specification.
Galeon builds the 440 Fly in Poland. The contemporary model was developed with Tony Castro Design Studio and belongs to the builder’s fourth-generation yacht family.
Beach Mode lowers the cockpit sides to create terraces beside the water when moored or at anchor. With both balconies deployed, the overall beam increases from 4.20 to 6.35 metres; the panels include glazed sections.
