What this boat is
The Canados 888 Evolution is a 27.02-metre planing flybridge yacht combining four-cabin accommodation with a 32-knot maximum speed. Developed from the Canados 86, it adds larger glazed areas, an expanded flybridge and a foredeck lounge to an established platform. Its separate crew quarters, multiple outdoor entertaining spaces and customisable interiors suit owners seeking a professionally operated yacht for family cruising and entertaining.
The model in detail
Built by Canados at Ostia, near Rome, the 888 Evolution carries forward the technical platform of the Canados 86, of which 46 examples had been delivered. The first Evolution continued that numbering as hull 47 and was delivered in July 2018. Canados handled naval architecture and exterior design. At 27.02 metres overall, with a 6.40-metre beam and approximately 2-metre draft, it retains its predecessor’s profile while introducing larger windows and revised outdoor spaces.
The main deck combines an aft saloon and dining area with a forward galley, day head and wheelhouse. Full-height side glazing and lowered bulwarks improve outward views, while wide-opening aft doors connect the interior with the sheltered cockpit. The Boffi galley incorporates an opening partition, allowing separation from the guest areas when required. Interior finishes are customisable: early specifications included combinations of oak, Macassar ebony, American walnut, lacquer, leather and Striato Olimpico marble.
Guest accommodation occupies the lower deck. The usual arrangement sleeps eight in a full-beam owner’s suite amidships, a forward VIP and two twin cabins, each with an en-suite bathroom. Some examples add a Pullman berth for a ninth guest. The owner’s accommodation includes a dressing area, sofa and vanity. Separate forward crew accommodation provides three berths across two cabins with a shared bathroom, keeping service accommodation distinct from the guest suites.
Outdoor areas include cockpit dining, a foredeck lounge and sunpads, and an enlarged flybridge with an upper helm, seating and dining beneath an opening hardtop. The low stern treatment preserves views over the bathing platform from the aft deck. A garage approximately four metres long accommodates a compact jet tender; a 3.85-metre tender fits within the documented arrangement. Compared with the 86, the Evolution places greater emphasis on outdoor seating and visual connections between the saloon and sea.
Twin Caterpillar C32 ACERT diesels, each rated at 1,925 hp, provide 3,850 hp in total. Recommended cruising speed is approximately 27 knots, with a maximum of 32 knots; early delivery specifications also quote 28-knot cruising and a range of 380 nautical miles. Fuel capacity is 9,300 litres and freshwater capacity is 1,800 litres. Construction combines a composite planing hull with lightweight Kevlar/Aramat material in the superstructure, reducing weight high above the waterline.
The Evolution was offered with a substantial equipment package including Seakeeper gyroscopic stabilisation, metallic paint, electric blinds and dimmable lighting. Individual installations include hydraulic bow and stern thrusters, twin 28 kW generators and a 180-litre-per-hour watermaker. Later hulls retained the four-cabin configuration while introducing individually commissioned interiors, including work by Michela Reverberi. Accommodation for three crew and several separate dining and lounging areas supports extended, professionally operated coastal cruising.

Frequent questions
A verified original base price is not available; a new-build example carried an asking price of €5,240,000 in 2019, which was not a published base price. One distinct pre-owned example was found publicly advertised at €3,150,000, although conflicting availability indications mean its current status requires confirmation.
Twin 1,925 hp Caterpillar C32 ACERT engines deliver approximately 27–28 knots cruising and a maximum of 32 knots. Early delivery specifications give a range of approximately 380 nautical miles; actual endurance depends on speed, loading, conditions and fuel reserves.
The usual four-cabin layout accommodates eight guests in a full-beam master suite, a forward VIP and two twin cabins, all with en-suite bathrooms. Some examples include an additional Pullman berth, increasing accommodation to nine.
The yacht accommodates three crew in two separate forward cabins, typically a single cabin and a twin-bunk cabin sharing a bathroom. This is the accommodation capacity, rather than a universal minimum-manning requirement.
Canados built the model at its Ostia shipyard near Rome, Italy, with naval architecture and exterior design developed in-house. Interiors were customisable, with Michela Reverberi responsible for the interior design of later examples.
Measured consumption on one sea trial was approximately 158 litres per hour at 17 knots and 370 litres per hour at 31 knots. These figures describe that particular yacht and test conditions, not guaranteed consumption for every example.
