What this boat is

The Sunseeker 65 Sport Yacht combines a low-profile sports flybridge with three en-suite guest cabins, a tender garage and twin Volvo Penta IPS drives. Built in Britain from 2021 to 2026, it suits buyers who prioritise hands-on driving and outdoor entertaining without giving up enclosed saloon comfort, with a distinctive upper helm and accommodation for a separate crew member.

The model in detail

Introduced in 2021, the Sunseeker 65 Sport Yacht combines the silhouette of a sports cruiser with a compact flybridge. Sunseeker developed its naval architecture, exterior and interior design in-house, and construction took place in the United Kingdom. At 20.50 metres overall, with a 5.10-metre beam and 1.60-metre draft, it offers three main living levels without the tall profile of a conventional flybridge yacht. Production spans 2021–2026.

Its defining feature is the SkyHelm upper driving position. Two low-set seats flank a central console carrying the throttles and instruments, while the steering assembly raises for standing manoeuvres and lowers for seated driving. An IPS docking joystick supports close-quarters handling. Carbon-fibre seat backs and the low seating position distinguish this arrangement from a conventional flybridge dashboard, while an enclosed lower helm provides an alternative in poor weather.

The main deck connects the aft cockpit with an extensively glazed saloon. An aft-galley arrangement includes a lowering window and sliding doors, allowing food and drinks to pass directly outside. Below, the standard accommodation comprises a full-beam owner's suite amidships, a forward VIP double and a starboard twin cabin, each with its own bathroom, plus a separate day head. These cabins sleep six; an optional fourth single cabin increases guest accommodation to seven. A separate single crew cabin sits forward of the garage.

Propulsion choices include twin Volvo Penta IPS1200 installations rated at 900 PS each or D13-IPS1350 installations rated at 1,000 PS each. With the larger engines, maximum speed is approximately 35 knots; a sea trial achieved 34.5 knots. Fuel capacity is 3,500 litres, and the published economical range reaches 750 nautical miles at 10 knots. At 20 knots, tested consumption was approximately 200 litres per hour, with a stated cruising range of 280 nautical miles.

The planing hull and superstructure use composite construction, with resin infusion and carbon fibre employed to control weight. Published displacement is 37,810 kg. Fresh-water capacity is 800 litres, with a 200-litre black-water tank. The pod-drive installation also leaves room for a garage capable of accommodating a Williams 345 jet tender alongside smaller watersports equipment.

Equipment and layouts vary between boats. Options include a Seakeeper 16 gyro stabiliser, hydraulic bathing platform, additional docking controls and a beach-club arrangement with a bar, refrigerator and barbecue when the tender is carried outside. Some 2023 examples feature a revised deck saloon with an enlarged galley island. Galley-down and alternative lower-deck arrangements were also available. The combination of enclosed accommodation, open-air driving and tender storage supports family cruising and watersports, with separate accommodation available for one crew member.
