What this boat is

The BGB Yacht Dreamline 28M is an Italian flybridge motor yacht combining Enrico Gobbi’s exterior and interior design with naval architecture by Giuseppe Arrabito. Introduced under the BGB brand in 2021, it offers accommodation for up to ten guests and three crew, with considerable scope for personalisation; documented layouts include a main-deck owner’s suite and a choice between additional guest accommodation and a dedicated wellness room.

The model in detail

The BGB Yacht Dreamline 28M appeared at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2021 as the new brand’s first Dreamline presentation. BGB had acquired rights to produce Dreamline yachts, continuing an existing Italian design lineage rather than introducing an unrelated platform. Construction was based near Ancona in the Marche region. Enrico Gobbi’s Team for Design handled the exterior and interior, while Arrabito Naval Architects developed the naval architecture.

Published particulars for the 2021 Dreamline 28 give an overall length of 28.27 metres, a beam of 6.86 metres and a volume of 140 GT. Both hull and superstructure are GRP composite, with teak-covered decks. The documented CE hull length is 23.84 metres, distinct from overall length. Specifications identify a planing hull, approximately 95 tonnes lightship displacement and a maximum draught below the propellers of 2.02 metres.

Accommodation requires careful checking against the individual yacht’s arrangement. The five-cabin specification accommodates ten guests, while the documented four-cabin version sleeps eight and substitutes a gym, sauna and shower room for the fifth guest cabin. The owner’s suite sits forward on the main deck, with panoramic glazing, a dressing room, an en-suite bathroom and private foredeck access. A VIP double and two twin cabins occupy the lower deck in the wellness configuration.

The documented diesel installation comprises two MAN V12 engines rated at 1,400 hp each, driving five-bladed propellers through ZF V-drive transmissions. Brokerage specifications quote 25 knots maximum, 17 knots cruising and approximately 1,400 nautical miles at an economical 10 knots. The same specification lists 9,600 litres of standard fuel capacity plus 2,400 litres of additional long-range tankage, and 1,500 litres of fresh water. These figures describe the documented installation, not every possible custom build.

Arrabito’s distinctive chine geometry was promoted as a means of reconciling higher-speed operation with reduced fuel consumption. At the BGB launch, a Siemens-powered Eco Performance Hybrid solution was advertised as an option, rather than confirmed as standard equipment. BGB also announced further styling work by Team for Design; that announcement should not be treated as evidence that every subsequently advertised Dreamline 28 incorporates an identical update.

The main deck combines a saloon, dining area, separate galley and day head beneath a raised pilothouse. Documented equipment includes zero-speed stabilisation, a hardtop, a stern tender garage and a hydraulic bathing platform. The BGB database entry records three crew in two cabins, whereas brokerage particulars describe accommodation for four. For buyers planning extended coastal cruising with guests, the cabin arrangement, crew facilities, propulsion specification and fitted options therefore merit individual verification.
