What this boat is
The Horizon FD90 is a 27.45-metre motor yacht combining Cor D. Rover’s high-volume exterior design with accommodation and deck arrangements tailored to individual owners. With an available main-deck master suite, enclosed or split-use upper-deck layouts and separate crew quarters, it addresses buyers planning family cruising and extended stays aboard rather than prioritizing outright speed. Equipment, cabin counts and machinery vary substantially between builds.
The model in detail
Built by Horizon in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, the FD90 belongs to the Fast Displacement series introduced in 2016. Cor D. Rover created the exterior styling, while Horizon handles naval architecture and the model’s interior design. It measures 27.45 metres overall with a 7.11-metre beam and approximately 1.85-metre draft. Its development follows the FD87 Skyline’s enclosed-bridge concept; Horizon documented a custom FD90 launch in October 2020.
The familiar five-stateroom arrangement places a full-beam owner’s suite forward on the main deck and four guest cabins below, providing accommodation for ten before any additional berths. Full-height saloon glazing is a defining feature. Accommodation is not fixed: Horizon has delivered four-stateroom examples and a three-stateroom version with the master below and a country kitchen forward. Galley placement, laundry facilities and storage therefore require checking on each yacht.
Upper-deck choices include the enclosed Skyline arrangement and a split-use configuration combining an enclosed wheelhouse with sheltered outdoor entertaining space. Walkaround side decks connect the aft boat deck with the foredeck lounge. Tender stowage, a crane, bars, dining furniture, sunshades and spa pools can be incorporated according to specification. A stern beach club and bathing platform characterize the catalogue arrangement, although owners have also substituted additional storage or a customized garage.
Machinery has evolved between builds. Horizon’s 2024 brochure specified twin Caterpillar C18A diesels rated at 1,136hp each, whereas the current model page lists twin 1,600hp MTU 10V2000M96L engines. A published 2024-build review records 19.5 knots maximum with the MTUs; Horizon reports 22 knots for a later yacht fitted with twin 1,900hp Caterpillar C32As. Standard published fuel capacity is 13,170 litres, but extended-tank examples exist, including a reviewed yacht carrying 15,780 litres.
The hull and superstructure are GRP composite. Horizon’s High Performance Piercing Bow forms part of the fast-displacement hull concept, intended to support efficiency and stability. The group manufactures composite components in-house and uses resin-infusion technology. Equipment also develops by hull: a 2022 launch introduced JUNG automation, while later examples feature upgraded fin stabilizers, larger generators, dive compressors or folding radar masts. These are documented build specifications, not a universal equipment list.
Crew accommodation commonly comprises two cabins aft of the engine room for four people, although some recent layouts accommodate five. Documented ownership plans include Florida, the Bahamas, the northeastern United States and Australian coastal cruising. Production continues: Horizon announced Hull 36 under construction in June 2026 for delivery in 2027, with extended fuel capacity, a walk-in cool room and a reinforced boat deck incorporating a custom helipad for remote Australian exploration.

Frequent questions
No verifiable shipyard- or press-announced base price was found for a new FD90. As of 16 October 2026, three distinct pre-owned examples were identified with asking prices equivalent to approximately €6.067 million–€7.361 million, with a €7.060 million median, using ECB reference rates dated 15 October 2026; these are asking prices, not completed-sale values.
Performance depends on the machinery: published examples range from approximately 16 knots with twin 1,136hp Caterpillars to 19.5 knots with twin 1,600hp MTUs, while Horizon reports 22 knots for a 1,900hp Caterpillar installation. A published C18-powered specification quotes 1,640 nautical miles at 10 knots, but tank capacity, loading and operating conditions must be checked for the individual yacht.
The familiar five-cabin layout accommodates ten guests, with a main-deck master and four lower-deck guest cabins. Custom three- and four-stateroom versions have also been delivered, and additional berths on some builds change the overnight capacity.
Many FD90s provide two crew cabins for four people aft of the engine room; some later customized builds accommodate five. These figures describe accommodation capacity rather than a universal minimum operating complement.
Horizon builds the FD90 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, with a GRP hull and superstructure. Cor D. Rover is responsible for exterior styling, while Horizon provides naval architecture and the model’s interior design.
The Skyline arrangement provides an enclosed upper-deck lounge and bridge configuration. Split-use layouts combine an enclosed wheelhouse with a sheltered entertaining area outside, leaving an open aft boat deck for lounging, tender storage or owner-specified equipment.
