What this boat is
The Evo R+ combines the angular styling and adaptable outdoor spaces of Evo’s R line with a glazed, enclosed main deck. Introduced at Cannes in September 2023, this approximately 18-metre sportscruiser is intended for owners seeking sociable day boating alongside accommodation for longer stays, with a sheltered helm and saloon, configurable interiors and a multifunction stern platform for swimming and tender handling.
The model in detail
The Evo R+ made its world debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival, held from 12 to 17 September 2023. Built in Italy by Evo Yachts, the Blu Emme Yachts brand, it was developed with designer Valerio Rivellini as an enclosed-coupé evolution of the R-line concept. Published overall length is 17.71 metres, with a beam of 5.31 metres. Its black aluminium hard-top and faceted glazing distinguish it from the more open R6.
The main deck brings the helm, lounge, dining table and galley into a single sheltered space. Windows surround the driving position, providing panoramic visibility, while opening sections allow natural ventilation. The Cannes boat also carried a lower-deck galley with a large refrigerator and wine storage. An alternative arrangement replaces this with a lower dinette and enlarges the main-deck galley, illustrating the builder’s flexible approach to interior planning.
Accommodation varies with the specified layout: published arrangements provide two or three guest cabins, accommodating four or six overnight guests, with two bathrooms. A separate single crew berth is also documented. The maximum complement of 16 people should not be confused with sleeping capacity. Interior finishes include Alcantara, teak and carbon accents, continuing the angular geometry of the exterior rather than adopting traditional yacht cabinetry and decoration.
The higher-powered installation comprises two Volvo Penta D11-IPS950 diesel engines, each producing 725 hp, for 1,450 hp combined. Published performance is approximately 33 knots maximum, with cruising speeds around 26–27 knots and a quoted range of 280 nautical miles. Fuel capacity is 2,100 litres and freshwater capacity 510 litres. These are published specifications rather than guaranteed passage figures; sea conditions, loading and the individual boat’s equipment affect results.
Construction combines a GRP composite hull and deck with the aluminium upper structure. Outdoor equipment centres on the adaptable stern: extending side sections increase usable cockpit space, while the hydraulic platform changes height for boarding, swimming and launching or recovering a tender or jet ski. The aft sunpad converts into a table, and the adjacent bar incorporates a refrigerator, icemaker and sink. Forward sunbathing space provides a separate outdoor relaxation area.
The R+ has been offered with IPS800 and IPS950 propulsion choices and configurable accommodation rather than a single immutable specification. Its enclosed day area adds shelter to a design still organised around outdoor entertaining and water access. The combination suits coastal cruising and weekends aboard, with space for a skipper when required; prospective owners should establish the precise cabin, galley and equipment arrangement of the individual hull.
Frequent questions
A verifiable published base price for a new Evo R+ was not found; launch coverage listed the price as still to be confirmed. No confirmed current pre-owned listings with public asking prices were found, so a reliable used-price range or median cannot be calculated.
With twin 725 hp Volvo Penta D11-IPS950 engines, published figures are approximately 33 knots maximum and 26–27 knots cruising. Quoted range is 280 nautical miles, with a 2,100-litre fuel capacity.
Published layouts offer two or three guest cabins for four or six overnight guests, with two bathrooms. The maximum stated complement of 16 people refers to people aboard, not overnight accommodation.
A separate single-person crew cabin is documented, accessed through a foredeck hatch. Its accommodation is compact, with a transverse berth rather than the facilities of a guest suite.
The Evo R+ is built in Italy by Evo Yachts, a Blu Emme Yachts brand, in collaboration with designer Valerio Rivellini. The builder identifies its main shipyard as Villa Literno, near Naples.
The platform can be raised for boarding from a higher pontoon, positioned at water level to extend the beach area, or submerged for swimming and tender handling. The builder also describes its use for launching and retrieving a jet ski.
