What this boat is
Oceanco LEVIATHAN is a custom 111-metre motor yacht combining long-range private cruising with facilities for diving, scientific research and extended life aboard. Delivered in 2025, she departs from conventional superyacht layouts by opening prominent social spaces to both guests and crew, with an emphasis on practical materials, operational efficiency and comfort rather than formal separation.
The model in detail
Previously known as Project Y722, LEVIATHAN was launched on 10 August 2025 and delivered that November. Oceanco developed her exterior and collaborated with Lateral Naval Architects on naval architecture, while Mark Berryman Design created the interiors. This is a bespoke yacht rather than a production series: her development involved substantial changes to the original interior concept and the allocation of guest and crew spaces.
Built at Oceanco’s Alblasserdam yard in the Netherlands, she has a displacement steel hull and aluminium superstructure, measures 111 metres overall and has a 17.8-metre beam. Gross tonnage is 4,970 GT and draught is 4.6 metres. Construction follows Lloyd’s Register classification requirements. Large glazed areas and a relatively compact, forward-positioned superstructure leave substantial open deck space aft.
The published accommodation arrangement comprises 11 cabins: one full-beam owner’s suite with study and dressing room, four VIP suites, two double cabins and four twins. The owner’s suite and VIP accommodation occupy the upper deck, with six further cabins below. Guest-capacity figures differ between public sources, so cabin count should not be treated as confirmation of the yacht’s approved passenger complement.
The diesel-electric installation includes two MTU 16V 4000 M25S engines, three MTU 12V 2000 M51B generators and two ABB propulsion pods. Published performance is 17.6 knots maximum, with cruising at 13 knots and a range of 6,500 nautical miles at that speed. Battery storage supports generator-free periods at anchor. The DE-Series hull platform was developed for pod propulsion, with model testing, ballast management and Quantum MagLift and XT fin stabilisation addressing motion comfort.
The main-deck dining space is communal rather than a conventional formal saloon, and the bridge-deck games room replaces another traditional lounge. Outdoor facilities include a 10-metre pool, an open-air cinema, a basketball area and a sundeck spa pool. Bolidt synthetic decking replaces teak; composite cappings, honed stone and natural wool carpeting were selected to reduce repetitive maintenance rather than simply reproduce conventional yacht finishes.
Beyond leisure cruising, LEVIATHAN carries a laboratory, a fully equipped dive centre and onboard medical facilities. Crew participated in the design process, influencing ergonomics and the use of shared spaces. Her research equipment and long-range cruising capability support an operating brief combining private hospitality with marine exploration, while the maintenance-conscious specification is intended to release crew time for guest activities, scientific work and complex onboard operations.
Frequent questions
No substantiated shipyard-announced new-build price or confirmed build cost was established from the sources reviewed. As of 16 October 2026, the consulted yacht databases show no public sale listing, so there is no verified asking price or pre-owned price range.
Published performance is a maximum speed of 17.6 knots and a cruising speed of 13 knots. Her reported range is 6,500 nautical miles at 13 knots.
The published 11-cabin arrangement comprises an owner’s suite, four VIP suites, two doubles and four twins. YachtCharterFleet and SuperYacht Times list 22 guests, whereas BOAT International’s detailed onboard report states 12; the approved passenger capacity therefore requires confirmation from the yacht’s documentation.
Public databases list accommodation for 33 crew, while BOAT International reports capacity for up to 43 under the revised operating arrangement. These are accommodation figures, not verified minimum-manning requirements, and the actual crew complement requires confirmation.
LEVIATHAN was built by Oceanco in Alblasserdam, the Netherlands, and delivered in 2025. Oceanco designed the exterior, Oceanco and Lateral Naval Architects developed the naval architecture, and Mark Berryman Design created the interiors.
Oceanco confirms a fully equipped dive centre, a laboratory and an onboard hospital. These facilities support marine exploration and scientific activity alongside the yacht’s private cruising role.
