The YOT 36 is a 10.92-metre power catamaran combining an open walkaround deck with two private cabins, each with its own bathroom. Built by Catana Group’s YOT brand and designed by J&J Design, it targets families and friends seeking a social dayboat that also accommodates overnight stays, with folding side terraces enlarging the cockpit at anchor.

The model in detail

Introduced at the Cannes Yachting Festival in 2023, the YOT 36 established Catana Group’s dedicated power-catamaran brand. J&J Design developed the model, which is built in Portugal. At 10.92 metres overall and 3.99 metres wide, it combines a twin-hull platform with a walkaround deck arrangement rather than an enclosed cruising saloon. The builder specifically presents its relatively narrow beam as a means of fitting conventional marina berths.

Outdoor accommodation centres on four modular cockpit benches and two tables, allowing separate seating areas or a shared dining arrangement. Electrically operated port and starboard terraces increase the overall width to 5.40 metres when deployed, creating an aft leisure area approaching 20 square metres. Four forward-facing seats occupy the helm area beneath a hardtop, while wetbar facilities keep cooking and refreshments on deck.

Below deck are two independently accessed cabins, each with a toilet and shower, providing four berths in total. The accommodation is asymmetric: the larger owner’s cabin extends into the central part of the boat, while the smaller starboard guest cabin offers less space. Forward, the deckhouse carries a sunpad, with additional seating towards the bow. This arrangement separates overnight privacy from the principal entertaining areas outside.

The current factory specification lists twin Mercury V8 300 hp outboards as standard and twin Mercury V10 400 hp engines as an option. A published test of the 600 hp installation recorded a maximum above 30 knots and total fuel consumption of 72 litres per hour at 14 knots. The builder quotes typical cruising speeds of 23–25 knots for its outboard range, subject to loading, engine choice and sea conditions. Fuel capacity is 1,150 litres; freshwater capacity is 300 litres.

Construction is described as vacuum-infused polyester composite with carbon reinforcement. The boat carries CE Category B certification for ten people. The model has evolved beyond its original petrol-powered format: the 400 hp V10 option was publicised in 2025, and a separate electric derivative developed with Power & Sail Hungary uses two ePropulsion X40 outboards, delivering 80 kW combined, with a 94 kWh battery installation.

Equipment choices materially affect the ownership experience. Published options include Zipwake interceptors, twin 12-inch Simrad displays, radar, air conditioning, a generator, solar panels and an electrically extending aft shade. Mercury’s JPO control package incorporates joystick manoeuvring, autopilot and Skyhook functions. The open deck and two-cabin arrangement suit day outings and short coastal stays; buyers comparing examples should distinguish factory specification, optional equipment and propulsion generation.
