What this boat is

The Evo V8 is a 23.77-metre Italian motor yacht that combines enclosed accommodation with convertible outdoor spaces and sailing-inspired steering positions. Introduced in 2021, it is designed for owners who value direct access to the water, flexible entertaining areas and a private owner's retreat rather than a conventional flybridge arrangement. Its three guest cabins accommodate seven overnight, with separate accommodation for two crew.

The model in detail

The Evo V8 introduced the V-Line as the flagship of Evo Yachts, the Italian brand built by Blu Emme Yachts near Naples. Valerio Rivellini designed its exterior and interior, bringing sailing-yacht influences to a powered platform. The first hull launched at Torre Annunziata in May 2021 and made its public debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival that September. Its development followed Rivellini's earlier Velar 78 concept.

The yacht has a composite GRP hull and superstructure, a moderate-V underwater form and a draught of approximately 1.50 metres. Its conventional beam is 7.17 metres; the often-quoted 9.50-metre figure describes its maximum width with the aft extensions deployed. These folding bulwarks open the beach area laterally, while a hydraulic stern platform provides additional boarding and bathing flexibility. Tender stowage and the lifting crane disappear beneath separate aft-deck hatches.

The principal accommodation arrangement provides three guest cabins: a forward VIP, an owner's cabin aft and a twin cabin with an additional folding berth. Together they sleep seven, separately from the two-person crew accommodation. Each guest cabin has an en-suite bathroom. A lowered aft lounge connects the owner's accommodation to the beach area; closing its sliding doors makes it part of an approximately 12-metre-long private suite. Layouts are customisable, and both three- and four-guest-cabin configurations were offered at introduction.

On the main deck, opening glazing surrounds the saloon and dining space. Privacy glazing also serves the projection cinema installation. Above, a rooftop terrace is reached by a retractable hydraulic staircase and includes sunbathing space, outdoor dining and a disappearing helm console. The foredeck seating converts into a sunpad, with a concealed plunge pool beneath the sofa on the first hull. Interior finishes include teak, walnut, nubuck, leather and brass details.

The first V8 carries twin Volvo Penta D13-IPS1350 installations, each developing 1,000 hp. Its stated maximum speed is 24 knots, with a 19-knot cruising speed and a stated range of 400 nautical miles from 4,150 litres of fuel. Early sea trials recorded lower maximum speeds, approximately 21–22 knots, so the headline figures should not be treated as guaranteed results for every loading condition. Freshwater capacity is 950 litres.

Four steering positions distinguish the V8: the enclosed main helm, two external carbon steering wheels and the retractable rooftop controls. Joystick operation and a bow thruster assist manoeuvring. Equipment fitted to the first hull includes Humphree stabilising fins and interceptors, an induction hob, wine cooler, blast chiller and ice maker. Separate guest and crew circulation, multiple lounging areas and direct access from the owner's suite to the sea support both overnight cruising and swimming-focused days at anchor.
